The next time a spool of tinsel does a Slinky job on your fly-tying bench, remember that you should have picked up a couple of UNI-Trays. This plastic box with a foam insert was specifically designed to dispense spooled materials. At first glance it looks like someone was shy with the punch, but the spaces between the fourteen holes have been sized to properly hold the spools while material is being pulled out. Useful for all spooled materials, the UNI-Tray really earns its keep when filled with tinsel and wire.
